Individual Psychotherapy

I understand well-being and mental health to be political phenomena, and healing work to be part of our many paths towards liberation. I approach my work as a therapist from this perspective, where I understand both harm and healing to be rooted in the context and relations in which we live. Many of us get the message that healing is an individual journey, but healing is a process and it is made possible by building grounded connection with ourselves, others, and the world that surrounds us.

My work as a therapist is informed by liberatory psychoanalytic theory, trauma-informed therapies, internal family systems, and body-based healing modalities. I specialize in work with trauma, survivors of sexual violence, identity (especially with mixed-race people, Asian folks, and queer and trans community), and in support work with activists, students, and healers. I work with both individuals and couples.

I am currently a psychotherapist with The Askin Group.

Yoga & Meditation

A yoga or meditation studio with light wood floors and large windows. In the center, a small arrangement of potted plants on a decorative cloth. Around the room, there are posters on the walls with information, a folded blanket on the floor, and some paper and objects near the windows.
People participating in a ceremonial gathering outdoors during daytime, with a table adorned with orange flowers and various items, fallen leaves on the ground, and shoes and blankets visible in the background.

As a certified trauma-informed yoga teacher (CYT-200) and a Buddhist meditation practitioner and facilitator in both the Plum Village and Vipassana traditions, I integrate body-based practices and philosophies into my scholarship and healing work. You can read some of my writing on the possibilities of a Buddhist analytic for social work here.

My approach to yoga and meditation is grounded in justice and collective care. I teach yoga from a commitment to rejecting racial, body, and nationalist supremacies. My teaching has centered on creating supportive, accessible spaces for survivors, young people, disabled folks, and queer and trans peoples.
